Easy Dessert - Saba Banana with Honey

Here is an easy dessert that you can make in no time at all, This is a lighter, healthier version of banana Q (fried saba banana on a stick) and banana caramel.

Saba is a type of banana that you cooked first before you eat, similar to plantain only shorter and plumper.

EASY DESSERT - SABA BANANA with HONEY

some saba bananas (or plantain), sliced into two lengthwise
honey
butter for greasing (optional)

Heat a non-dtick skillet ( a must, if you want to cook healthy, low fat meals), get a stick of butter and lightly and quickly rub on the surface of the skillet just to coat it; this is just for added flavor and browning but you may skip this step (the bananas won’t stick on the pan anyway). Lay the bananas and cook till browned, turn once to cook the other side. Lay cooked saba slices
on a platter and drizzle with honey.

That’s all there is to it. It’s so simple and yet filling and tasty.

Note: In the picture above, I added some chocolate truffles (for the kids) which I made from leftover ganache and coated it with walnut pieces (my 3 -year old finished it off in seconds), if you don’t have that, you can add some raisins and other nuts, or mallows or a scoop of ice cream, but that will make it calorie-densed which is not what I’m after with this dessert, kids would love it though.

Happy Cooking!
