Puff pastry is really good especially when it’s fresh and you made it yourself. The September challenge for the Daring Bakers is french puff pastry, vols-au vent. Too bad I wasn’t able to make it on time.
I watched this video a lot on my first try at making puff pastry, it was hard for me because it’s hot in my kitchen and I have naturally warm hands; the butter kept on melting and I have to put it back in the fridge quite a lot which ate a chunk of my time. My puff pastry didn’t turn out well, but I’m not giving up. I will give it another try.
Here’s what I made:

failed.. but they were yummy

I made half of the dough into palmiers..sort of, it was delicious as well but it wasn’t light and flaky as it should be..Better luck next time
I still plan to make this challenge, will post in the coming days, meanwhile please do check out other Daring Bakers who did it and did it well too :)

Yours look great even if they didn’t come out great. Mine came out a bit chewy.
waw,…you made your own puff pastry!!
Congrats!! The puff pastry looks fab!!
Congratulations. AT least you made your puff pastry. I haven’t made this one in such a long time. So, give yourself a pat in the back for doing such a great job.
Thanks, Divine! :)
