How To Make Puff Pastry Video

Puff pastry is really good especially when it’s fresh and you made it yourself. The September challenge for the Daring Bakers is french puff pastry, vols-au vent. Too bad I wasn’t able to make it on time.

I watched this video a lot on my first try at making puff pastry, it was hard for me because it’s hot in my kitchen and I have naturally warm hands; the butter kept on melting and I have to put it back in the fridge quite a lot which ate a chunk of my time. My puff pastry didn’t turn out well, but I’m not giving up. I will give it another try.

Here’s what I made:

failed.. but they were yummy

I made half of the dough into palmiers..sort of, Β it was delicious as well but it wasn’t light and flaky as it should be..Better luck next time

I still plan to make this challenge, will post in the coming days, meanwhile please do check out other Daring Bakers who did it and did it well too πŸ™‚

Yours look great even if they didn’t come out great. Mine came out a bit chewy.

Congratulations. AT least you made your puff pastry. I haven’t made this one in such a long time. So, give yourself a pat in the back for doing such a great job.
