This cake is unbelievably easy and delicious- it’s moist and sweet and chocolate-y even though it only has cocoa and coffee in it.

FOR THE SHEET CAKE:

Salt

Cocoa

Coffee Powder

Water
boiling / or hot strong coffee

Evaporated Milk

FOR THE FROSTING:

tablespoon
Butter
or margarine

tablespoon
Cocoa
3
tablespoons
Milk
2
drops
Vanilla Extract

Powdered Sugar
Pecans
roasted and chopped / for garnish
Instructions
FOR THE SHEET CAKE:
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
In a saucepan, melt butter then add cocoa, stir until well blended.
Add hot coffee/ boiling water and coffee powder, bring to a boil for 30 seconds, then turn off heat.
Pour over flour mixture, and stir.
Combine evaporated milk and egg, baking soda, and vanilla.
Stir well and add mixture into butter/chocolate mixture.
Pour into sheet cake pan and bake at 350-degrees for 15-20 minutes.
FOR THE FROSTING:
Meanwhile, make the icing.
Melt butter in a saucepan, add cocoa, stir to combine, then turn off heat.
Add the milk, vanilla, and powdered sugar.
Stir until smooth then pour this over warm cake.
Top cake with some chopped pecans or any nuts of your choice.
Cut into squares, or just spoon some into a bowl and enjoy! 🙂
